Today, Dr Eric Dowker creates pain-free living for his clients, combining a holistic approach with 35 years of clinical knowledge and practice.
It wasn’t until his three-year-old son fell three metres onto his head that Dr Dowker truly understood the impact his cranial function expertise could have on families just like his.
Dr Dowker worked to correct his son’s significant cranial trauma and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) dysfunction. When his son woke him that night saying “Daddy, nothing hurts!”, Dr Dowker knew all his years of specialised study had just paid off. Since then, he has identified and healed the source of pain for hundreds of headache, and TMJ sufferers. It is this sense of practising with certainty and the ability to help others that keeps the fire burning and his passion so intense.
Following a career as an academic at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Dr Dowker undertook Chiropractic studies, earning a Doctor of Chiropractic (USA) degree in 1982, graduating Summa Cum Laude (highest academic honours) and with the Clinical Excellence Citation.
In 1981 he completed his Cranial Instructors course with Dr MB De Jarnette, the founder and developer of Sacro Occipital Technique, a major technique in Chiropractic, Craniopathy and TMJ.
Dr Dowker was then selected by leading Sacro Occipital Research Society International researcher Dr ML Rees for personal postgraduate study in Craniopathy and TMJ.
